How to Increase Emotional Intelligence

According to oxford dictionary, emotional intelligence is the capacity to be aware of, in control of, and to express one's emotions. 

Why Is Emotional Intelligence Important?

Emotional intelligence( also referred to as EI) is the ability to manage both your own emotions while also understanding the emotions of those around you. There are 5 key elements to EI

1. Self-Awareness; conscious knowledge of ones character, feelings, and motives. 

2. Self regulation

3. Motivation

4. Empathy; the ability to understand and share the feeling of another. 

5. Social skills

     These are important skills to have if you are, well... alive. It helps communicate better within your marriage. Communicate with others as a coworker or manager. It helps maintain stress as you are able to identify why you are stress and how to better manage the situation. Individuals with higher EI are more likely to ask for help, as they do not see it as a burden but a chance to grow.
